Reviews
Imagine a film about an event that is so often played up as American achievement, (NASA loses a satellite) and have it set in a far-away land (Australia) about a team whose unknown efforts helped assure it was all a success, and you'd have The Dish, a delightful film about the true story of a small town, Parkes, with a very big satelite dish. The film introduces us to a variety of townsfolk, but the emphasis is on the four men controlling the Dish, three locals, and one Yank (Warburton). It's a mixture of historical drama and comedy that is at times emotional and inspirational and funny in that quirky down-under sort of way.
