Verdicts from the Midnight Court
It seems that Pedro Almodovar thought at this movie for ten years.
The last word of the movie offers its clue: PASSION.
It is a movie about the condition of the actor, but much more about the condition of the film director.
The actor is here Garcia Bernal. How much is he the real guy? How much is he the masque? Is he a gay? Or has he to play all the time the gay in life, to understand how to play the gay in the performance? And Garcia Bernal plays here in a magistral way.
But the movie is much more about the film director, about Almodovar himself. He is a weird guy, because he has to understand the weird actor, and the weird life, he is a voyeur, because he has to see the weird actor, and the weird life, because his scenario has to be as profound as weird life is. And he has to do it with PASSION.
